Tisdale is a wonderful author. There is so much going on in the book there is no issue with pacing, no overdoing thought processes, no repeats and more. Description is great-scenery, action, smells, etc. sensual interactions are good but not overdone. I'm so glad you got this book and read it!

It’s okay for a quick read if you want romance. I was disappointed tho. No real depth to this story. I knew what was going to happen. I suppose I’m spoiled now expecting all Scottish romances to be like the Outlander series. My bad. The main characters are appealing at first however I tired of Fiona’s bossiness, typical woman heroine. I would like to see a woman heroine who is not competing so much with the other male characters but instead uses her own wit, charm, and self confidence to save the day or the story. And I was really sick of near every chapter near the end of the book ending with “No bloody likely”. I wanted to scream! But I finished it. Glad I read the whole thing but I won’t be reading another.
I loved, loved, loved this 3 book series. Fiona is such a strong force of a woman and I loved seeing her fall in love with Caelen and he with her. Such intensity with specs of humor. Suspicion and war and bonds of clans...all these things fill this series and make for a wonderful on the edge of your seat read. Highly recommend.
I'm beginning to resent the first offering of books "free" or for a very low cost and then the second and third far more expensive. Now when I see a book is the first of a series, I'm not going to order them any more. The story was great. I loved the characters and I loved the story. BUT rather than making one book into three for the revenue, I'd rather you charged more for the first book.
I always enjoy Suzan Tisdale's books. This one did not disappoint. It was good to see some familiar characters from previous books. Caelan and Fiona both have no intention of falling in love, but love came. They struggle to find who is raiding Fiona's lands and blaming it on Caelan. Although there is some premarital sex, it is behind closed doors (not descriptive). Fiona's brothers are endearing characters that you love. Caelan is a true highlander, handsome and loyal. Well written and a very happy ending.
I loved this story so much! Fiona is such an amazing character. It was great to read about her and the on going issues with her clan. I was so happy to have all three parts together in one book. A great read.
If you're like me when reading a 'romance novel' I read it for romance, not blatant sexual descriptions. This book has all of the details of the time and place it's written about. The story is told in the language of the period but still easily understood. I found myself reading at 100 am and had to put my tablet away until the next night. I will be looking forward to reading all of Ms. Tisdale's books .
This is probably one of my most favorite books out of the entire series . I'm sure I say that every Suzan Tisdale book I read but Caelen is definitely my hero . I just love seeing this character progress throughout all of the previous books . You are left with the impression that he is a cold and ruthless man . But you discover that he is actually a tortured soul. Fiona is the chief of her own clan as well a a warrior with scars of her own. Together they heal each other's hearts. I love Brad Wills narration of the book. All the different voices he uses definitely makes this book come alive. I have to admit I preferred the old cover!
